Website user information clips

These short clips are designed to be viewed by families at the various stages of transitioning their children to school. The clips range from 10-15 minutes and guide families to specific areas within the ECIA NSW Transition to School Resource which could be of most assistance at particular time periods.

Each clip is presented by Transition to School Project Officer, Emma Pierce, who provides PowerPoint guides on how to navigate the Resource in the following areas:

Are you thinking about School Options for your Child?

This clip is designed to assist families with getting started in the transition to school process and covers topics such as choosing a school and how to apply.

Is Your Child Starting School Next Year?

This clip is designed to assist families in the second half of the year leading up to their children starting school.

Clip 3

Is there a Child with a Disability Starting at Your School?

This clip is designed to assist teachers and staff in schools where there is a child with a disability or any additional needs starting in their school. It supports the development of positive collaboration between schools and families, as well as other key members of a child's team.

Early Days of School

This clip is designed to assist families that have a child with a disability, who is either just about to start school, or has recently started school for the first time.

This 50 minute webinar provides a more in-depth guide on navigating the Resource and includes practical information and tips for all partners involved in supporting children to make a smoother transition to school.

Early childhood intervention professionals are encouraged to share these clips with families at the point in time when they would be most relevant. Services may like to share the link to these specific clips via newsletters, social media, emails, home visits, or group sessions at different points in the year.
